Reliable sources reveal that Uganda Peoples’ Congress (UPC) Head of Ideology and Research under Jimmy Akena’s administration, Christopher Lwanga is critically sick.
A source told us Lwanga was admitted at Rubaga Hospital this week after complaining of bodily weakness.
“Lwanga was taken to hospital by family members and his situation has since worsened; as we speak now, he has been transferred to Nsambya hospital for more specialized treatment,” the source noted.
“We are worried about Mr. Lwanga’s condition which comes at a time when the party has lost a number of its leaders in just one year.”
Another source however, told us that Lwanga was diagnosed with diabetes and is responding to treatment.
The opposition party is currently grappling with a leadership vacuum after losing the party Vice President, Patrick Mwondha (who succumbed to Kidney and Heart illnesses) and the Secretary General, Edward Sseganyi who lost the fight to Throat cancer.
Lwanga is currently running and coordinating an ideology orientation weekly training at the party headquarters under the Murungusha Club.
