RRA (Rwanda) 3-1 VVC (Uganda)
Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) Volleyball club were crowned the Champions of the NSSF KAVC International Volleyball Tournament after defeating Vision Volleyball Club (VVC) of Uganda in the finals played at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium on Sunday evening.
Following a dominating start that saw RRA take the first set 25-12, Uganda’s VVC came back well composed and managed to get on top of their game by winning the second set 18-25.
The third set surely was the turning point of the whole game as VVC threw away a 6-point lead to eventually lose it by 28-26.
There was demolition in the last set as RRA made 11 points before VVC could make a reply, and the Rwandese sealed it 25-10 to clinch the title.
In the placement match, KAVC defeated Ndejje elites in an all Ugandan affair match played at the upper Outdoor Court.
Last year, Aspire Volleyball Club (Kenya) defeated Rwanda Revenue Authority 3-0 to win the title.
The tournament was sponsored by National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and the Organization’s Deputy Managing Director, Geraldine Ssali handed over the trophy and cash prize of $1000 to the victorious RRA club.
Rwanda Revenue Authority emerged the champions ahead of other participants from Uganda like KAVC A, KAVC B, Ndejje University, Nkumba University, KCCA, Espoir, Vision Volleyball Camp and Sport-S and from the neighbouring countries; Kenya teams (Aspire, Kenya Pipeline, KCB), Tanzania Teams (Jeshi Stars and Mangereza).
