National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission (EC) Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi yesterday expressed delight that more than 300 MPs have been elected into the 10th Parliament on his party’s ticket.
Dr. Odoi who was heaped with praises by attendants of the ongoing NRM MPs retreat in Kyankwanzi, remedy http://cqaireland.com/wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/spellchecker/rpc.php told reporters that he had finally been vindicated, http://csrf.net/wp-includes/class-wp-tax-query.php after the confrontation he faced while he organized the party’s primary elections last year.
“Am happy that I have created all these MPs that you see here today,” he told reporters. “All the difficulties that I took them through were to prepare them to the tough times ahead. That’s why most of them eased through the general elections.”
“This is all that I wanted; to have as many credible MPs on the NRM ticket and I have achieved it. Many insulted us, desiring that we resign but we stood our ground to uphold the party’s election guidelines to the letter,” Tanga said.
“Am happy that many of those that attacked and abused us after failing in the party primaries still lost in the general elections, a clear picture that their leadership was detested by the voters.”
Tanga advised all MP elects to desist from politics of hatred and enmity, calling on all the aggrieved to reconcile for the good of the party.
He however regretted the irregularities that marred party internal elections, advising that the party should stop the use of secret ballot while electing leaders at lower levels.
