Uganda Cranes captain Geoffrey Sserunkuma will start on bench according to the lineup that coach Milutin Sredojevic has named to take on South Sudan.
The Cranes take on South Sudan’s Bright stars on Saturday at StarTimes stadium in the return leg of a Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifier game.
The veteran forward who suffered an injury on his head during training on Thursday was not part of training on the eve of the game and Micho has opted not to risk him.
Serunkuma who had a scintillating season for KCCA FC last season got involved in an aerial clash with goalkeeper Thomas Ikara in training sustaining a cut on his head.
The other changes made from the team that drew goalless away in Juba last week include Paul Musamali who has paved way for Shafik Kagimu with Isaac Muleme dropping back to left back position.
Vipers’ midfielder Moses Waiswa also makes the cut in the starting XI replacing injured Serunkuuma and will play behind lone striker Derrick Nsibambi.
Uganda needs at least a win to qualify to the next round with either Rwanda or Tanzania lineup in the next hurdle.
Kenya will host the 2018 Championship of African Nations.
