Uganda Cranes camp has been hit with some saddening news after one of the strikers was confirmed to be injured.
Officials also said he might miss the return leg against Rwanda Amavubi Stars in Kigali.
In the first leg in Kitende, Mohamad ‘Jargasson’ Shaban suffered what seemed like a minor knock but it might sideline him for some time.
Adams Otelul, the Onduparaka FC Spokesperson where the striker plays, confirmed the news.
“Shaban sustained a knee injury as he came on as a late sub against Rwanda; he is back in Arua. He also missed the Azam friendly due to the knee niggle,” he said.
“By the look of things, he will definitely miss the return fixture against Rwanda.”
Shaban came off the bench to replace Moses Waisswa in the final ten minutes of Uganda’s 3-0 victory against Rwanda.
The young forward is the reigning FUFA player of the year, an honor he received amid controversy when he beat favorites Dennis Onyango and Farouk Miya to the accolade.
