The Cancer Run organized over the weekend by the Rotary Club of Uganda collected a gross revenue of Shs1.1 billion and a net of Shs740 million.
The event which was majorly sponsored by Centenary Bank and the Parliament of Uganda had over 35,000 runners taking part in 32 venues across the country.
The Chief Guest at the Kololo marathon on Sunday was Vice President, Edward Ssekandi while the Chief Runner was Centenary Bank Board Chairman, Prof. Ddumba Ssentamu.
Prof. Ssentamu was represented by the Centenary Bank Executive Director, Dr. Simon Kagugube.
The purpose of this year’s run was to raise money to build a bunker for the Linear Accelerator machine that was acquired last year, at the Rotary Centenary Bank Cancer Centre at Nsambya hospital.
