Ugandan referee Mark Ssonko has been handed duty to officiate at the forthcoming FIFA U17 World Cup in India.
Ssonko who is an assistant referee certified by FIFA was selected by the referees appoints committee on Tuesday.
The experienced official will be among the few selected referees that will handle games at the FIFA U17 World Cup slated for October 6-28.
Ssonko has over the years garnered experience and officiated at several international games since acquiring the FIFA badge in 2010.
The 39 year old officiated at the Championship of Africa Nations (CHAN) 2013 in South Africa which was his first international tournament.
He also went ahead to officiate at the 2016 CHAN tournament in Kigali and has also officiated several international games over the years.
Nigeria are the defending champions having won the last edition in Chile.
