Proline defeat KCCA FC in Pre-Season Friendly

KCCA FC 1-2 Proline FC
Proline Football Club edged Uganda Premier League Champions Kampala Capital City Authority(KCCA FC) in a closely contested friendly game.
The game played at the Startimes stadium on Friday saw Proline earn a 2-1 victory against their neighbours KCCA FC.
In what is always regarded as a ‘Lugogo derby’ James Penza  gave KCCA FC an early lead firing home three minutes after kickoff.
His attempted cross from the right flank went direct into the net beyond Proline’s  goalkeeper.
Proline’s crafty midfielder Noordin Bunjo could have levelled the score minutes later when he picked a loose ball outside the 18-yard box, but his effort sailed just above the crossbar.
It was Allan Egaku who equalized for Proline FC when KCCA FC’s back was caught flat-footed in a beautiful run of play involving Fahad Bayo and Suleiman ‘Malouda’ Matovu.
The two teams returned to the dressing rooms for the mandatory break all square at one all.
In the second half, Joel Nasasira came close to regaining the lead for KCCA FC but the young forward missed to tap home faced with an empty net.
With few minutes left on the clock, Proline’s Bright Anukani showed composure in the box to score a beautiful chip past a waiting Maliyamungu in goal.
KCCA FC who looked completely off the mark on the day could not find the leveller as the game ended 1-2 in Proline FC’s favour.
This was Proline FC’s second pre-season friendly as the Club recently drew one all against St Mary’s SS in Kitende, with Joseph Mandela scoring.
