Police Football Club emerged victorious in the buildup game they had against fellow Uganda Premier League side, BUL FC.
In the game played on Wednesday at Kibuli Secondary School, Police FC were the better side on the day edging out BUL FC 1-0.
The lone goal of the game came in the first half through winger, Yasin Mugume who converted a penalty.
Either side had several new signings tested but Police seemed the better side in terms of progress on the pitch.
Kefa Kisala, the head coach at BUL started and tested the new players with goalkeeper Hannington Sebwato (from Ndejje University), Musa Walangalira (JMC Hippos), Fred Kyambadde (Sadolin Paints) and returnee Martin Kivumbi (Bright stars) all starting the game.
Former SC Villa lanky forward, Francis Aloh and Richard Wadyaka, who joins the Jinja based team from URA FC all came on later.
On the other hand, Police FC had new signings Aggrey Madoi, Henry Wamala, Shakur Makera, Norman Ogik and Mugisa featuring in the game.
The goal that turned out to be the deciding moment came in the 27th minute after a foul on Hood Kawesa inside the box and Mugume stepped up to convert the resultant penalty sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
With the 2017/18 season around the corner several teams have signed new players in the bid to beef up their squads and have gone on to have trial games to get set for the new campaign.
