The Secretary General of the National Resistence Movement Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba was this Monday afternoon involved in a road accident.
The ruling party revealed today that the accident was caused by a “female pedestrian who reluctantly rammed into her official car around Kajjansi along Entebbe road.”
Police are yet to issue a statement on the matter as Lumumba is known to move in a motorcade complete with escort cars.
The lead car usually clears way for her official vehicle.
That the pedestrian couldn’t notice a motorcade on the road remains a puzzle.
The woman died instantly, according Rogers Mulindwa, the party spokesperson.
Mulindwa, quoting eyewitnesses, says the lady, was talking on phone as she crossed the road .
“The SG’s car got front damages but she escaped with no visible injuries,” he said.
“The NRM hereby sends its condolence message to the deceased’s family and promises to stand with them in this trying moment.”
Mulindwa did not explain whether Lumumba would seek to meet the bereaved family and how much she would contribute towards the burial expenses.
