It was recently confirmed that all the top 12 ranked teams, as of July 1, will automatically qualify for the Gold Coast 2018 Netball competition.
Following the She Cranes’ triumph at the Africa Championship which was held at Lugogo recently, the Peace Prosvovia-inspired side rose to ninth in the International Netball Federation world ranking list, hence earning a place to the 2018 World competitions.
The groups have been drawn and the tournament will feature two groups of 6 teams to total 12 altogether, where Uganda is set to make their debut.
Uganda is in pool A with New Zealand, England, Scotland, Wales and Malawi.
In Pool B, there is powerhouse Australia, South Africa, Jamaica, Fiji, Northern Ireland and Barbados.
The She Cranes will play each of their 5 opponents in Pool B, in games which will be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 5 to 15.
The opening match of the tournament will see Jamaica take on Fiji in Pool A, with England clashing with neighbors, Scotland.
New Zealand will take on Uganda in Pool B.
Each team will feature a maximum of 12 players, with a total of 144 athletes set to participate.
