Gladiators 31-58 KIU Rangers

Kampala International University ladies’ Basketball side, the KIU Rangers returned to winning ways on Sunday at the YMCA outdoor Court in Wandegeya.

The struggling side managed to overcome fellow struggler, Gladiators with a 31-58 victory in the Ladies’ National Basketball League game.

In what seemed like a close contest, Gladiators led 18-17 going into the break but Nimrod Kaboha’s Rangers came back stronger as they scored 20 more points to overtake Gladiators with a 24-37 lead.

Gladiators were then restricted to only 7 points in the last quarter to eventually suffer a 37-58 defeat.

Anniella Kadede and Ritah Komugisha scored 13 and 11 points respectively for KIU Rangers. Linda Wefila scored the most points for the day’s hosts, Gladiators with 8 points.

The Ladies’ league resumes this Friday with A1 Challenge taking on Entebbe based Nkumba Lady Marines.

Gladiators will return in action on Sunday against Javon Ladies in Lugogo. KIU Rangers will have to wait until 1st September and face off with table leaders KCCA Leopards.
