The Uganda National Woodball team has on Tuesday been flagged off for Indonesia where they will take part in the world beach woodball championship.
A contingent of 10 people including eight players and two officials were flagged off on Tuesday by National Council of Sports at the Lugogo indoor stadium.
The team departed for Indonesia on Tuesday at 2pm aboard Qatar Airways.
With four ladies and four male players, Uganda will take part at the inaugural World beach woodball cup.
Seasoned names like Lilian Zawedde (Africa’s seed one) and Joan Mukova from Ndejje University are part of the travelling squad.
Onesmus Atamba and Joel Adupa another duo from Ndejje University will also be part of the team to represent Uganda.
The team had pitched camp in Entebbe for close to a month in preparations for the tournament.
