President Yoweri Museveni has commended the work that is being done by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and reiterated that the government of Uganda is ready to meet with the organization as it provides services in Northern Uganda among the refugees from South Sudan.

The President made the remarks during a meeting with the visiting ICRC president, Dr. Peter Maurer, who called on him Monday at State House, Entebbe.

Maurer had been on a visit to South Sudan where the country has been experiencing instability due to a conflict between the Government Forces and opposition groups.

He also moved to the neighboring Northern Uganda where South Sudanese refugees are being housed.

Dr. Maurer thanked Museveni and the NRM Government for the support and engagements in the peace building process in South Sudan as well as receiving South Sudan who are in settlements in Northern Uganda.
