President Yoweri Museveni this afternoon distanced himself from the ongoing contention regarding amendment of Article 102 (B) of the Constitution to remove the Presidential Age Limit.

The President today opened up for the first time on the hot button issue, while addressing Press at State House Entebbe.

The proposal reportedly being pushed by elements of the ruling party is to allow all Ugandans above the age of 18 to run for President.

Museveni while responding to a reporter’s question, denied knowledge of any bill intended to lift the age limit for presidential candidates.

Those debating age limit, what are you debating? Who has brought that proposal?,” he wondered.

“Don’t waste your time with people who don’t have what to do, I have heard them but I am busy with my work”

Asked weather he would allow for a referendum to decide on the same matter, Museveni said all that is speculation .

“I don’t have time for speculation.”
