Deputy Registrar in charge of execution at High Court Flavia Nassuuna has committed Wilson Kyambadde, the husband of Trade and Industry Minister Amelia Kyambadde to civil prison for six months after failing to pay a 1.1bn shillings debt.
Nassuuna ruled that Kyambadde does not dispute a Commercial Court Judgement that ordered him to pay the said money to one Amdan Khan, from whom he is said to have conned under the guise of selling him a building at Nasser Road in Kampala.
The Registrar also faulted Mr Kyambadde for deliberately frustrating Amdan by filing several applications of stay in court which he failed to prosecute.
Court however, ordered Amdan to pay a daily fee of 3000 shillings to cater Mr Kyambadde’s meals for the six months period which Kyambadde will spend in prison.
The minister’s husband was arrested by court bailiff Kirunda Moses from Old Kampala as he was travelling to attend a burial.
