Mbarara Tycoon Injured in Failed Armed Robbery

Opposition Democratic Party (DP) has expressed readiness to fail the alleged proposal by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) to increase the terms of office of both the President and Members of Parliament terms of office from 5 to 7 years.

Police in Mbarara is hunting for assailants who shot and injured a renowned businessman Alex Rumenyeki.

The 39 old resident of Rwobuyenje cell Kakika Sub County was driving in Mbarara town last night when he was attacked by thieves who shot him in both hands in a move to steal a huge sum of money he had in the vehicle.

Alex sustained serious injuries but heroically continued driving to escape the possible murder.

Richard, a casual laborer in the area was reportedly murdered by the group of Rwandese in what is believed to be a land conflict.
