Mbarara Residents Raid Town Clerks’ Office Over Garbage

The residents accuse  Municipal Council of abandoning its garbage collection responsibility

The angry residents went to raise their concern regarding a neighboring Manji Memorial Academy which they accused of dumping garbage along the road that puts the lives of the residents at risk.

“We also want an explanation as to why the Municipal Council has not collected garbage from Lugazi for the last two months yet we pay taxes. Where does our money go?” Mr. Habibu Hakiri one of the protesters said.

He said the residents were now planning to block the all the roads coming and leaving the area until their concerns are addressed.

Kakoba division Health Inspector Hebert Tumusiime however, informed us that the garbage collection trucks in the division were damaged and undergoing repairs.

Efforts were futile to reach the Mbarara municipality town clerk Mr. Munono Baryantuma.
