Police in Mbarara are hunting for a man who stabbed to death his fiancé in Rubindi Town Council in Kashari.
Yeroboam Nuwagira, comprehensive nurse and lab technician, is said to have stabbed Silvia Arinaitwe, a mid-wife aged only 20years.
The two were co-workers at Angella Clinic, a private health facility in Rubindi town.
Moreen Musiimenta, one of the staff members at the Clinic told Chimpreports that on Sunday at 7; 30pm, Nuwagira called Silvia in the Dispensary where they developed a quarrel and eventually people heard her making an alarm.
On rushing there to see what had happened, the midwife was found in a pool of blood.
The deceased was found with several cuts on the back, Musiimenta told us.
At the time police was called in, the suspect had already fled the scene.
According to co-workers, Nuwagira had earlier been arrested for rape, which created problems in his relations with Ms Arinaitwe.
He however, didn’t last long in jail and when he came back, she had already moved on, which Nuwagira wasn’t willing to accept.
The regional police spokesperson Samson Kasasira said police are tracking down the suspect.
The body was taken to Mbarara referral hospital for postmortem and is expected to be laid to rest today Tuesday.
