Makerere Student Rushes to Court Seeking Special Graduation Ceremony

Patience Agaba, a former Makerere university student in Human Resource Management has dragged the University to High Court seeking an order for the University to hold a special graduation ceremony to award her a Master’s degree.

Agaba says she missed the last graduation because her name was erroneously removed from the graduation list.

The plaintiff last year successfully completed her Masters Degree in Human Resource management at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she was a student since 2010.

Ahead of the 2016 Makerere University Graduation Ceremony, Agaba says however, her name was removed from the graduation list without any explanation.

It’s on these grounds that she wants court to order Makerere to hold a special graduation ceremony for her and also make a public apology to her via all local newspapers.

The deputy Registrar of High court has given Makerere University 15 days to file their defence on the accusations
