Kyabazinga on Dhaira: Busoga Has Lost a Great Son

The Kyabazinga of Busoga William Wilberforce Kadhumbula Gabula Nadiope IV is the latest high profile figure to pay tribute to  the former Uganda Cranes goal keeper Abel Dhaira who passed on Sunday 27th after losing battle with abdominal cancer.

In his brief post on social media, health the traditional ruler described Dhaira as one of the best Ugandan goalkeepers of modern times.

“Very Sad to hear the untimely demise of Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Abel Dhaira commonly known as Abbey Dhaira, one of Uganda’s best goalkeepers of modern times, ” Kyabazinga’s statement partly goes.

Kyabazinga is the supreme leader of the Busoga kingdom where the late and his ancestral lineage hail from.

“Busoga will find a vacuum difficult to fill. We will always miss the towering personality and I join millions of the nation in paying my humble tribute to this great son,” the message further reads.

Earlier in the morning the first son, Brig. Muhoozi Kainerugaba also passed his condolence just minutes before the president issued a statement that the government will fly the body back.

“Sad to hear about the untimely death of Uganda Cranes keeper Abel Dhaira. May he rest in peace.

Burial arrangements will be communicated later. Local football federation, Fufa has taken over the details and logistics inside the country.
