Residents of Kameme village in Kihihi sub county, Kanungu district woke up Tuesday in shock to find the grave of a man who was buried last year ripped open.
Stephen Mukombe, a renowned local rainmaker was murdered in mob justice and buried in November last year.
Six people were arrested in the murder and have since been committed to High Court for trial.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson told us that on Monday night, unknown people dug up Mukombe’s grave, retrieved the coffin but left the body intact.
Maate condemned the act and said police is investigating to establish who was behind it and their intentions.
