Last season, Kirinya Jinja S. S. S FC finished 10th on the log with 33 points from 30 league games, a performance which was undoubtedly brilliant, given that it was their debut season in top flight.
Since then, a lot has changed as the club prepares to put up a challenge in the upcoming 2017/2018 season, and they are ready to finish in higher places.
Notably, the club moved from the heart of Jinja town, Kakindu Stadium and they will be hosting their home games at Bugembe Stadium.
Towards the end of last month, Club Patron, Dianah Hope Nyago unveiled Charles Ayiekoh as the new club Coach, and recently, Ahmed Kongola was made the Club’s Cheif Executive Officer (CEO), taking over from Sam Mugabi.
In addition to other signings, the club has acquired two Cameroonian players to improve on their squad depth.
Makon Ngombe Ghislaine Landry is an attacking midfielder from Savana FC in the regional elite league one of Cameroon and the 23-year-old was given Jersey number 21.
Bertrand Ebode Ottou is a central defender who they have acquired from Master Sport Company Academy which is in the regional league two of Cameroon and will be wearing number 5 at the club next season.
Ayiekoh said: “Makon will add a lot of options and solutions for us in the midfield. He is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or winger, and his viewed as one of his country’s most exciting talents.”
He added: “Ebode, on the other hand, has got physical strength, work-rate, technique and a range of distribution as a defender, and above all, a good ball header and high intelligence of game reading.”
Kirinya Jinja C.E.O, Kongola, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Makon and Bertrand to K-JSSSFC and it’s our aim to keep the club moving forward to achieve greater success in future.”
