Businessman Mathew Kanyamunyu, who is charged with two other people for murdering social worker Kenneth Akena has arrived Thursday morning at High Court where he re-applied for bail.
Kanyumunyu was arrested with two others for shooting dead Mr Akena in Lugogo, Kampala in November last year.
In March, Justice Nyanzi released on bail two of Kanyamunyu’s co-accused — Cynthia Munwangari, his girlfriend and his brother Joseph Kanyamunyu.
The main suspect Mathew Kanyamunyu however, was denied bail on grounds that he could interfere with investigations in the matter.
Kanyamunyu was dissatisfied with this decision, and through his lawyer Evans Ochieng, filed another bail application whose hearing is scheduled for today.
The released suspects Joseph Kanyamunyu and Cynthia Munwagari were today spotted at the High Court for the bail hearing together with relatives and friends of the Kanyamunyu; as well as the late Akena’s family members.
