Judge Steps Down From Desh Kananura Murder Case

With four wins in the last five outings, approved it is no doubt that Express FC are currently the most on-form team in the Azam Uganda premier league.

Jmc Hippos are struggling with the fitness of influential team captain and playmaker Richard Wandyaka who suffered a minor knock on Saturday. Forwards Patrick Onyango and Mustapha Mugoya are still sidelined due to injury together with Dan Sabana.

Coach Odoch also hinted at giving Ghanaian import Samuel ‘Dante’ his debut game.

Express Fc welcome back Ismael Kazibwe and Noah SSemakula back from the sickbay. The red Eagles are fourth on the log with 29 points, 6 behind the table leaders KCCA FC though Express have two games at hand.

The other Jinja side, Bul FC will make a difficult journey to Mwererwe to take on Bright Stars Fc. The team has endured an emotional week after news came in that coach Aalex Isabirye’s mother was ill as well as Abel Dhaira the eldest son of goalkeeping coach Bright Dhaira who was diagnosed with cancer.

Bul welcome back attacking youngsters Militon Kalisa and Yunus Sibia from the national team engagement in West Nile. The two feautered in the same team together with their day’s opponents Bernard Muwanga and Mathias Kigonya.

Elsewhere, Coach Kefa Kisala will be tasked to improve URA FC away record if at all the tax collectors are intending to win the title. High court judge Justice Wilson Masalu Museni has withdrawn from hearing a case where city socialite and rally driver Desh Kananura and four others are accused of murdering Abdul Kateregga, sildenafil a bar attendant at (Kananura’s) Panamera Bar.

The visibly angry judge said he was recusing himself from the case following a news article in one of the dailies recently which suggested that had interest in the matter.

The paper alleged that Museni while still serving as the Resident Judge at the Nakawa High Court where this case was in its early stages, he refused to forward the file to the main circuit of High Court Kampala for hearing but instead forwarded it after he was relocated to Kampala High court where he then fixed it among the cases he was to hear in this criminal session.

Museni in today’s session refuted the allegations which he termed as baseless and whose aims are only known to the authors.

“I distance myself from allegations that I have conflict of interest in this matter because I have no choice in deciding on which specific cases I am to hear in a session. All the 80 cases in this session where fixed by the Deputy Registrar, ” he said.

Museni them stepped aside from hearing of this matter and referred the file of this case back to the Deputy Registrar High court for re-allocation.

This means that the case that has spent almost two years without being heard, will once again be added on those which are pending.

In the case, Prosecution alleges that Kananura and three co accused Raymond Kananura his brother, Nzoreba Samuel,Onyango Jacob and Maganda Cirus in October while at Panamera Bar Naguru  Kampala suburbs tortured and murdered Abdul Kateregga a bar attendant.
