The Uganda national football team has moved one place up in the latest rankings released by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
In the latest rankings released by the world football governing body, Uganda moved from 74th position it held in the month of June to 73rd in July.
The number of cumulative points garnered slightly improved from 463.72 to 464.
Like it has been the norm, Uganda continues to be the highest ranked team in the CECAFA region.
Kenya follows in 81st place while Rwanda, Tanzania, Burundi and South Sudan come a distant 119th, 120th, 132nd and 1468th in that order.
Uganda’s opponents in the 2019 African Cup of Nations Cape Verde and Lesotho are 114th and 143rd respectively. The other opponent is Tanzania who sit in 120th position.
Brazil returned to the summit of the rankings dispensing world champions Germany who have dropped to second place.
Argentina, Switzerland and Poland complete the top five places.
Egypt are the most placed African team in 25th place followed by DR Congo (28th),Senegal (31st),Tunisia (34th) while African Champions Cameroon are 35th.
