FBL: We’re Ready for Lira’s Bad Plan, Says Coach Engwedo

The Fufa big league continues on Saturday with three fixtures lined up in the Elgon group. The biggest of all games will be at the Lang’o sports ground where Sporting United host Lira united.

Both sides are in urgent need for points, physician but for differing reasons. A win for Sporting takes them to the summit of the log ahead of Onduparaka with a superior goal difference while Lira United are rooted in the relegation zone and could go above with a result.

“We have been training well the whole week and all players are in good shape with no injury news. Mugisha is also back from suspension. I know it won’t be an easy game, ailment ” Sporting United coach Ogwal Engwedo told Chimp Sport.

“They have a bad plan in mind to beat us but we are ready to counter them. Lira (United) have stepped up training from the time they confirmed this fixture. Now they train twice a day; mornings and evenings, order ” Engwedo reveals.

The coach however quashed claims that their Lira counterparts could give them an advantage in the game, “That is not possible otherwise they wouldn’t be training twice. Secondly, they are in relegation zone and need redemption with just a few games to go.”

The two sides played to a barren draw in the first leg game played on Saturday 7 November 2015 but with nine goal leading acorer Denis Otim in good form and the return of play maker Walter Ogwang, coach Engwedo has hopes.

In the other game, Busia fisheries take on Ndejje university in a fight for playoff slot as water travel to kawempe Muslim to take on Baza Holdings.
