Buddo Secondary School earned a slot into this year’s final in the boys’ basketball final at the ongoing East Africa Secondary School games tournament in Gulu district.
Buddo SS breezed past Kuojoka from South Sudan on Friday to set up a final with defending champions APE Rugunga.
The opening quarter was quite close with either side posting 12 points but Buddo SS showed their intent in the second quarter to create a nine point gap by the interval.
The third quarter was a matter of sealing the lead with Buddo garnering 27 points but Kuojak responded in the same currency.
They eventually went ahead to win the game 74-59.
In the other semifinal, defending champions APE Rugunga from Rwanda edged out national champions Kibuli SS 73-59 to return to the final for the second successive year.
Buddo will be seeking to become only the second team from Uganda to win the boy’s championship after St. Mary’s Kitende in 2015.
