Two teams so far have lit up the ongoing East Africa Secondary Schools tournament as far as boy’s football is concerned.
Kibuli SS from Uganda and Alliance Boys from Tanzania have been impressive thus far, both in group A and have collected maximum points.
Midfielder Allan Okello has been the key figure for Kibuli SS leading the scoring charts with four goals.
The crafty left footed gem scored a hat-trick in their opening game against Upper Hill before netting the lone goal in their second game against hosts St. Joseph’s Layibi.
Alliance on the other hand have been in scintillating form.
After earning a comeback 4-2 victory against Upper Hill on Sunday, the Tanzanian giants guaranteed their slot in the last eight with a 1-0 win against College Karambi on Monday.
The battle today (Tuesday) will be to search for which team tops group A.
In the other games to be played on Tuesday, national champions Jinja SS need a must win against Alliance Rock, another team from Tanzania.
Jinja SS lost their opening game to Kakamega 2-1 before drawing goalless against Nakaseke International.
Nakeseke play Kakamega while St. Mary’s Kitende who have sealed the quarterfinal slot already play LDK from Rwanda.
Kitende won 2-1 in the first game against St Anthony and put six past Burundi’s Roi de Gitega.
