East Africa Secondary School Games Underway in Gulu

The East Africa games get underway today in Gulu

The battle to find out the best schools in sports in the region has got underway this morning in Gulu District.

With over 3500 athletes taking part in the week long tournament, there is a lot at stake in the different sports disciplines.

Uganda, the hosts are ably represented across the different disciplines ranging from football, netball basketball among others.

The games will be played across different venues in Gulu town. These include St. Joseph’s Laiyibi, Pece Stadium and Gulu High school.

In the boy’s football, Uganda is represented by Jinja Ss, St. Mary’s Kitende,Kibuli Ss, Nakaseke International and hosts St. Joseph’s Layibi.

Equally, Uganda is well represented in women’s football through Mukono High, Kawempe Muslim, Gadhafi Integrated and Uganda Martyrs High School Rubaga.

In some of the opening fixtures, Kawempe Muslim plays Alliance High School from Tanzania while hosts St. Joseph’s Layibi take on Rwanda’s Karungi.
