The family of fallen Cranes goalkeeper Abel Dhaira has suffered yet another tragic loss after more sad news came in that his mother has passed away on Tuesday evening at her home in Mayuge.
“The grandmother left us yesterday (Tuesday) evening. She had been suffering old age sickness but the situation worsened when she learnt the news that Abel had been diagnosed with cancer. Abel (RIP) breathed his last on Easter Sunday after a short battle with abdominal cancer at the Icelandic university hospital.
Burial arrangements are in place with the body expected in the country anytime over the weekend and burial to follow shortly. A committee of five members has been put in place by FUFA to handle the entire programme.
The government pledged to cover all transport costs from Iceland to Uganda while the football body will handle internal logistics.
