Cranes vs Barca: Simbwa, Mutebi Name Uganda’s 20-man Squad

National Resistance Movement candidates who were handed the party flag in the October primaries have grown impatient with their counterparts who lost and opted to stand as independents in the 2016 general elections.

The ruling party’s flag bearers are also distraught that the party leadership seems to be bluffing about taking action against the adamant independents, buy http://crossfitabf.com/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-plugin-install-list-table.php who signed an agreement to step aside once defeated in the primaries.

In the western Sheema district, abortion http://corcoranproductions.com/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/i18n/states/br.php the NRM flag bearers have asked the district party leadership to invoke its powers and punish the NRM independents.

During a meeting at the NRM offices in Kabwohe town on Saturday, http://chelseamamma.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/modules/gravatar-hovercards.php Sheema district flag bearers asked the party district chairman Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye to dismiss all independent candidates who contested and lost in the primaries.

Sheema District Woman MP Rosemary Nyakikongoro who won the primaries to defend her seat accused the NRM leadership in Kampala, for remaining indifferent on the issue of independent candidates which she said was dividing the party and confusing its supporters.

“We the Flag bearers are annoyed because no one has come out to condemn the acts of independents in NRM. For us in Sheema we want them be dismissed from the party because they are nothing but a liability. We have to rid them now,” she said.

The NRM Secretary General Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba has severally threatened to have independents thrown out of the party, as dictates the party constitution and rules and regulations.

The idea however, it appears, has failed to get full support of her boss Yoweri Museveni – the party chairman – who maintains that continuous dialogue with the independents would be less counteractive.

At the Saturday meeting, one of the Independent candidates for Sheema Woman MP Jacklet Atuhaire who lost to the incumbent Rosemary Nyakikongoro, dismissed the possibility of them being hounded out if the ruling party.

She told the members that independents would have been ejected if they insisted on standing after a free and fair election.

“The agreement we signed with the party was that the independents would be dismissed when elections were free and fair. Unfortunately, that term is not very descriptive of what we had in October,” she said.
