Uganda National Football Team Coach, Moses Basena has today morning revealed his team of players to face Egypt in a 2018 Russia World Cup Qualifying double header.

In a press conference held at FUFA House Mengo, Basena claimed that the game against Egypt is coming at a wrong timing.

“It is absurd that the tie comes when some of these players are in their off-season. But atleast there are others who are playing active football like Denis Onyango, Kizito Luwagga, Sserunkuma etc.”

The major highlight of the squad sees Kizito Luwagga return to the team after the player had vowed never to play for the National team again until Micho leaves.

The 27-man squad has 4 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 8 midfielders and 5 strikers.

Uganda will play Egypt on Thursday, August 31 at Mandela National Staidum in Namboole before a return leg in Alexandria on September 5.

Following a win and draw against Congo and Ghana, the Cranes are second in Group E with 4 points, 2 below leaders Egypt.
