Buganda Road Court chief magistrate has issued a warrant of arrest to Wasswa Crispus, a Makerere University student who was arrested months ago together with the university guild president Paul Kato and two others, for an illegal demonstration in the city centre.
The four; Kahigi Edmond, Waswa Crispus, Kato Paul and Ainebyona Ronald were arrested in November last year demonstrating along Namirembe Road in Kampala to pressurize the government to open up the University, which had been closed by President Yoweri Museveni.
Court today decided to issue a warrant of arrest against one of the suspects Waswa, who failed to show up in court for two consecutive hearings without giving any proper reason
Hearing of this case was supposed to commence today but the state prosecutor Nelly Asiku asked court for an adjournment to enable her summon witnesses in the matter.
Hearing was been pushed to 7th September.
