Cecafa: Cranes Date Malawi as Exciting Sudan Derby Returns in Quarters

Uganda Cranes have a day of rest on Sunday after a narrow 1-0 victory over Burundi in the final group B game in the ongoing Cecafa senior challenge.

The Cranes finished top of group B with six points followed by Bobby Williamson’s Kenya team who qualified on a better goal advantage over Burundi.

In the draws held, ambulance view Uganda has been scheduled to take on Malawi Flames on Monday afternoon while group mate Kenya tussles out with the Amavubi stars of Rwanda on Tuesday.

Hosts, sick Ethiopia take on Tanzania in the second game on Monday.

The two played to a one-all draw on Saturday in their last group game with The Walias – equalising just to the whistle courtesy of an own goal from Salum Mbode.

Sudan Derby:

The second Sudan derby will set things rolling on Tuesday afternoon after ending in a barren stalemate on Wednesday.

South Sudan erased the underdog tag by topping group C unbeaten with seven points ahead of Sudan and Malawi.
