The Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura has appointed AIGP Abas Byakagaba as the Director in Charge of Human Resource, replacing the late AIGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi.
The position became vacant on March 13th following the assassination of Kaweesi who also doubled then as police spokesperson.
Hitherto the new appointment, Byakagaba has been the commandant Senior Police Staff College in Bwebajja along Entebbe road.
In the message dated August 17, Gen. Kayihura has also appointed AIGP Haruna Isabirye who has been in charge of the Anti-Stock Unit as Director Welfare and Production to replace AIGP Elizabeth Muwanga who retired recently.
AIGP Andrew Sorowen, who has been in charge of Special Duties has been appointed as the police Sports Liason officer with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
Among other transfers is Moses Kafeero who has now been appointed as commandant Senior Police Staff College in Bwebajja.
Kafeero recently completed a course in Rwanda where he emerged the best student.
He has in the past served as the commandant for Police Training College in Kabalye, Masindi district.
Fenny Kyomukama from Field Force Unit has been appointed commander Anti Stock Unit whereas Emmanuel Mukama who has been on a foreign mission in Somalia has been transferred to VIPPU.
The transfers according to the message sent to all units by the Inspector General of Police take immediate effect
