The second leg for the round of 16 ties kicked off on Wednesday with two games played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

The Afternoon kickoff saw Mpindi record a 2-0 victory against Wasswa Bbosa’s Ndiga team for the former to progress to the last 8 with a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Brian Majwega converted from the spot before Yusuf Ssaka doubled their lead following a beautiful run of play to take his tally to 7 goals thus far.

Rajab Kakooza’s strike in the first half was the only difference as Nte won 1-0 against Nvuma.

“I’m happy that we have managed to overcome this encounter. You can now tell that the team’s playing rhythm is coming back slowly by slowly. We have not yet matched last year’s performance but I think with time we will be there soon,” Said Deo Kakooza, the Nte Coach after their victory.

Nte who had won their first leg 1-0 stormed into the quarterfinals with a 2-0 aggregate victory.

The defending Champions Nte and 2006 winners Mpindi will know which team they will face in the quarterfinals soon after the other round of 16 return legs have been played.
