Besigye's son has evolved into a proficient school debater

Anselm Besigye, shop the son of Forum for Democratic Change former President Col Dr Kizza Besigye’s son is taking his leadership skills to a whole new level.

The 16 year old is seeking to be elected captain of the Oxford debating union. Yesterday he put out his campaign video, filmed by his mother Winnie Byanyima who is the Oxfam International Executive Director.

“I plan to host public exhibitions on hot button issues and current events… I plan to invite speakers from around campus to join in our beloved pizza parties so that we can get new debaters in the door, because we are and should be the biggest club at campus,” he lured.

In 2014 at the Belmont Hill School, Anselm scooped a trophy in a school based debate about the fundamental issues like minimum wage for the working class people in society.

The debate in which the topic of discussion was to argue, whether the minimum wage in the US should be raised from $7.25 to $10.10, Anselm came out the best and was handed a trophy.

His promising talking skills to some, might be pointing to the possibility of him following in the footsteps of his parents who are considered amongst the country’s most seasoned politicians.

But Winnie doesn’t think so. She says her son has no interest at all in politics.
