Police in Hoima is holding 76 people for illegally encroaching on Bugoma forest reserve in Rwemiseke village, ampoule http://crossfitnaples.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/functions.global.php Kyangwali Sub-County in Hoima district.
The National Forest Authority-NFA Kisindi sector manager Stuart Maniraguha says the suspects were arrested during an operation they conducted in conjunction with the Environmental police on Thursday evening.
Maniraguha says on Monday, he received reports that a group of people had encroached on the forest with the aim of harvesting timber on the orders of one Dominick Tindyebya.
Tindyebwa one Monday told NFA officials in Hoima that he had been permitted to harvest timber from the forest reserve.
He possessed a permit document allegedly signed by the office of the president and Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
The Environmental police Commander Moses Okwi says that police is still investigating the sources of the document.
