Museveni’s deputy publicist Lindah Namisango said in a statement on Stuarday: “In the powers vested in the President by article 223(4) of the 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda, the President has appointed Andrew Munanura Karokora as the Deputy Inspector General of Government.”

She added: “H.E the President has therefore forwarded his name to the Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga for parliamentary approval as stipulated in the constitution.”

Munanura is a city lawyer and senior partner with Munanura-Mugabi & Co. Advocates located at Tirupati, Mazima Mall, Plot 2530 Ggaba road, Nsambya, Suite 204.

Speaking exclusively to at 4:19pm, Munanura said: “I am very happy for being appointed to this important job. I thank the President for this. I can promise Uganda that those who want to steal, leave tax payers’ money alone.”

“Secondly, I encourage the corporate young men and women to delay gratification. Work hard and stop stealing,” he further noted.

“I also warn the civil servants to stop wasting government resources on official cars and other properties,” said Munanura.
