2016/17 Uganda Premier League Awards Launched

The car that will be won by the MVP

Like it was the case in the 2015/16 season, the Uganda Premier League awards are back for the second successive season.

The awards meant to reward to the excelling individuals in the 2016/17 season have been officially launched.

The launch was held at Mandela National stadium on Friday and the car (Subaru Forester) which will be won by the Most Valuable Player was also unveiled.

The players contending for the MVP prize include Geoffrey Serunkuuma (KCCA FC), Emmanuel Okwi (SC Villa) and Mohammad Shaban (Onduparaka).

Seeunkuuma scored 21 goals to help KCCA FC win the league while Emma Okwi who played just 13 games scored 12 goals in the second round of the league.

Mohammad Shaban was influential at Onduparaka in their maiden season in the league.

Ochaya Joseph currently plying his trade at Lusaka Dynamos won the accolade in the 2015/16 season while still at KCCA FC.

There are 17 categories this time round in total.

The awards gala will be held on May 26, 2017 at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala
