Rwanda National, 4 Others Killed On Good Friday

The dead were identified as John Niringiye 28 years, of Nyarurama village Rutare parish Kyayi sub county and one Kwiringira 16 years, of Gahuru village Rutare parish Kyayi sub county Kisoro district.

While being rushed to Mutolere hospital, one of the passengers, Stephen Mushimimana, 29 years, of Rubavu village Gishenyi Rwanda, also breathed his last.

Elly Matte, the Regional Police Spokesperson, said the police were notified and the body of the Rwandese is still lying in Mutolere hospital mortuary pending collection by relatives.

In Fort Portal, Police are investigating the circumstances under which two people were murdered over yet unknown reasons in Kitini village, Rwensenene parish, Buheesi sub county, Kabarole District.

According to Okello Laurence, the Deputy CID Fort Portal, the deceased have been identified as Festa Itima aged 70, and Sedrack Asiimwe, all of the same family.

Okello says the residents, on the morning of Good Friday, found the body of Itima lying in a pool of blood in her home.

According to the preliminary investigations, the old woman is purported to have been killed by his grandson Asiimwe.

The angry residents picked up pangs, clubs and spears, and killed Asiimwe there and then.

Teddy Kyozaire, daughter to Itima said that Asiimwe was addicted to opium consumption which she said could have been the cause of the murder.

According to the post-mortem, Asiimwe is alleged to have first raped the 70 year-old grandmother before slaughtering her.
