Gunfire As Rebels Move to Retake Bentiu

Rebel leader, Dr Riek Machar, confirmed this as his rival, President Salva Kiir rushed to Sudan to meet with President Omar Al-Bashir over the same.

Earlier on, Kiir and Bashir had proposed a Joint Oilfield Guard to ensure rebels are kept off Bentiu oil fields.

Fighting continues in South Sudan amid a ceasefire and delayed peace talks.
