Ivan Bwowe, the New Guild President, says the administration has not performed as is expected.

“Most of the lecturers at the college of Agriculture are part-time staff who have spent three weeks without coming for lectures inspite of the fact that all students paid the 60 percent of their tuition,” Bwowe lashed out.

The University administration was forced call a quick meeting with students’ representatives with the promise that lectures will resume on Monday next week.

Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof Dumba Ssentamu, remarked that the university administration was not aware that students have not been studying for the past two weeks.

“We will sit down this afternoon with all lecturers to make sure that this issue is solved and students resume their lectures by Monday,” he said.

Dumba, however, revealed that the university is also facing some financial constraints where by only 30% of the students have completed their tuition which has given them a hard task in running day to day activities.
