According to Sgt Gubi, the nasty accident involved a Link Bus registration No.UAQ-080E that was travelling from Bwera to Kampala.

The accident happened at Kalere along the Bwera –Kasese road at around 2:20pm today, Wednesday.

He said two passengers died on spot and two were severely injured; they were rushed to Kagando hospital in a critical condition.

The officer said the driver of the bus tried to avoid the herdsman that was crossing the road with his cattle.

In the processes of avoiding the reckless herdsman, the bus driver lost control and it veered off the road overturning several times.

Gubi attributed the cause of the accident to overspeeding by the bus driver and the reckless herdsman.

The bus was impounded and parked at Kasese Main Police Station.
