“This is to alert all school administration and the entire public to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious person and activities in their vicinity to the nearest police.”
The reports come high on the heels of intensified military operations against ADF in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to officials, 90 percent of the ADF bases in North Kivu have been destroyed.
However, the guerrilla movement remains alive in the densely forested and remote areas of North Kivu in Eastern Congo since none of the commanders including Jamil Mukulu has been captured or killed.
The terrorist group is remembered for having killed students of Kichwamba Secondary School in the late 1990s in a dormitory arson.
They further waged a guerrilla war in Western Uganda, killing civilians. The group was repulsed by the UPDF thus inflicting heavy casualties on the enemy. Out of 1,500 fighters, less than 200 returned to the Congo jungles alive.
However, sources say the group recently received support from foreign countries to destabilise the region.
Police have previously blamed the murder of Muslim Sheikhs in Uganda and burning of schools to ADF.
The Islamist military outfit remains one of the most dangerous military outfits in DRC, due to sophisticated training by experienced and battle-hardened Islamist fighters from the Middle East.
