Equity 61-51 APR

Coming into this encounter at the back of their defeat to Kenya’s Equity Basketball team, KCCA Leopards managed to return to winning ways with ease.

The Leopards picked a 139-35 win against Somalia’s entertaining side Horseed Benadir in a game played on Wednesday evening at the MTN Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

With all KCCA players registering points, it’s Moreen ‘Momo’ Amoding who led the charges with a game high 39 points, a figure which the whole Horseed team did not reach.

KCCA Coach Roger Sserunyigo made a rotation of his squad with star player Martha Soigi given a cameo appearance of just 7 minutes, and all the 12 players were all used on the day.

Starting on court with Cynthia Irakunda, Joy Chemutai, Martha Soigi, Muhayimina Namuwaya and Halima Nabasumba, the Leopards led the first quarter with a 37-9 score before adding on more 35 points to lead 72-19 at the long break.

KCCA Leopards continued their dominance with Monica Siima, Patricia Alado and Sylivia Naigaga all given playing chances, scoring 33 and 34 points as they ran riot to seal their 104 point emphatic victory.

The Leopards have now won 2 games with just one defeat in this year’s Zone V tournament.
