Zone 4.2 Chess Resumes With Ugandans on Top

Buganda road grade one magistrate Pamela Ocaya Lamunu has adjourned the hearing of the case where Makindye councilor Allan Ssewanyana is accused of four defamation charges to 27th May 2015.

The adjournment followed the prayer by the state prosecutor in this case Esther Nalungi to be granted a break because investigations in the case are still ongoing

This was not been objected by the defense counsel Abdulah Kiwanuka.

Prosecution claims that between December last year and this year at NBS TV and Top Radio on various dates during Lunch time sports and Ekiswani Kye Mizanyo programmes Sewanyana made defamatory statement against Top Bet Sports Betting Company.

Sewanyana allegedly uttered statements that the Top betting company doesn’t want to pay wins and that it was created to steal people’s money; which comments were deemed as inciting its customers.
The 2015 Africa zhess chone 4.2 Campionships returned on Wednesday morning after a one day break where the players had been taken to the source of the Nile in Jinja to refresh.

Ugandan field master Ssegwanyi Arthur was leading the pack in the open category going into the break after four rounds of play.

Ssegwanyi is the only unbeaten player at the tournament after defeating fellow Ugandans Baagadde Daniel, click Buti Raphael, Kawuma Patrick(CM) in the first three rounds before seeing off second placed  Hesham Abdelrahman (IM) of Egypt.

He faces Ugandan Emojong Elijah next in fifth round. Emojong Elijah (3 points) is third followed by Buti Raphael, Wanyama Harold, and Ssonko mathias Allan.

In the ladies category, Ugandan and world female master, Amoko Ivy Claire (3.5) is  leading the table ahead of two world chess masters(WCM), Elansary Eman(3.0) and Ehab Tasneem(3.0) from Egypt.

Fellow compatriots Kigeni Grace (3.0), Angolikin Goretti(2.5) complete the top five.
