Zambi’s Chipolopolo have taken an early halftime lead over Uganda Cranes in an international build friendly at the Mandela National stadium.

Chisamba Lungu grabbed the only goal of the half in the 24th minute after a mixup in Cranes defence led Isinde to deflect the goal to the lower left corner.

Cranes chance.

The hosts came close to an opening goal as early as 7th minute.

Tonny Mawejje curled in a beautiful freekick from the left edge of the box but Massa’s header spanned inches wide.

Mawejje also saw his stinging low shot lick the outside post six minutes later with the keeper well beaten in positioning.

Uganda’s last chance presented three minutes to the break after Oloya picked a floating ball from the centre line, more about weaved through before laying for Walusimbi to cross in.

Stophila Sunzu deflected the delivery but Zesco United keeper Jacob Babda was alert to tip it over for a corner which was cleared off in time.

Coach Micho drafted back Robert Odonkara in the starting lineup in the absence of first choice keeper Dennis Onyango.
