Woodball League: Botladz Consolidate Lead as Walkovers Soil Week 5

Stroke Woodball club in week 5 action at MUBS

Botladz Woodball club survived a scare from third placed Kisubi Corporates to pick 2:1 win in the fifth week of the pilot Woodball league played at MUBS grounds in Nakawa.

Woodball CEO Mr. John Baptist Kateregga struggled to open the game for Botladz against David Mutebi winning only four fairways in the 11 gates.

Godfrey Bukenya redeemed faint hope for Kisubi overpowering Jesse Ntege to win in six fairways to four.

However, order the pairing of Franco Kibuule and Isaac Ariho rescued the table toppers over Raymond Sematta and Rogers Gayebwa who could only manage to win one gate.

Kisubi later on defeated Stroke 3:0 to move to 14 points, information pills level with second placed Zoe Woodball club who unfortunately offered freebies. Zoe enjoys a better advantage 95 overall fairway wins, two ahead of Kisubi who have a couple matches at hand.

Walkover dominates.

The league committee led by Mr. Julius Ababa, the TD Erick Erabu and secretary Ms. Grace Arone has a new challenge to ponder about after nine walkovers out of 16 games dished out free points because opponents had failed to turn up.

KIU were the biggest ‘culprits’ with the men team missing Kisubi Corporates and UCU while the women failed to appear against examiners, UNEB.

UNEB men’s team benefitted free points from 2nd placed Zoe and Titans.
